The David Brearley Society Honors
a Legacy of Service to Others

The Masonic Charity Foundation of New Jersey has chartered the David Brearley Society to honor the caring individuals who make charitable planned gifts to support our mission. Everyone making such a gift – such as through Gift Annuities, Charitable Trusts, or Wills – is eligible to become a Brearley Society member.

David Brearley signed the United States Constitution, fought as a Lieutenant Colonel in the New Jersey Militia during the Revolutionary War, and served as a New Jersey Chief Justice. He voted as New Jersey Presidential Elector for Brother George Washington. Brearley also served as New Jersey Freemasonry's first Grand Master.

The Brearley Society has been established to recognize and thank our planned giving donors. Those who notify the Foundation of their plans are enrolled as members, and receive certain benefits including:

  • Recognition in Foundation publications and invitations to special events;
  • Professional, personalized gift planning services;
  • A handsome Brearley Society pin – a badge of distinction.

Many lives have been improved because of David Brearley's efforts. Those who make charitable planned gifts to support the Masonic Charity Foundation's mission continue the tradition of excellence and service to others that Brearley began over two hundred years ago.

If you already have included the Masonic Charity Foundation of New Jersey in your estate plan, please contact us. We would like to thank you and recognize you for your gift.
